UN Calls Emergency Meeting in Response to Iran’s Drone and Missile Attack on Israel

The UN Security Council has called an emergency meeting in response to recent drone and missile attacks by Iran against Israel.

These attacks have been considered unprecedented, increasing tensions in the region, leading to international concern. The purpose of the Security Council is to address the situation and explore diplomatic avenues to de-escalate tensions and prevent further conflict.

UN Condemns Escalation

United Nations Secretary -General, Antonio Guterres condemned on 13 April as a “serious growth” of Iran’s drone and missile attacks on Israel. He urged all sides to show restraint to avoid a broad struggle.

Israel Defense Forces said “The identity of dozens of surface-to-surface missile launch from Iran reached close to the Israeli region. IDF Aerial Defense Eri successfully intercepted the launch majority using the aer aerial defense system, with Israel’s strategic colleagues before it was launched in the field of Israel. A small number of hits, including an IDF base, were identified in southern Israel, where the infrastructure caused minor damage.

Many dozens of hostile aircraft, as well as dozens of cruise missiles, were reached from Iran to Israel’s territory and intercepted in the last few hours. Dozens of IAF fighter jets are currently working to disrupt all air threats in the field of Israel.

The IDF is deployed on all fronts, has been designed, and continues to protect the Israeli region.”
